    Shared Recipe Backpacking Bars

    Tuesday, Jul 2, 2013 on

"I've been using these for 8 or 9 years for my primary powerbars while hiking. They are delicious, and have a lot more energy than the commercial ones. Try to vary the types of nuts and chocolate chips. Mint are my favorite chips, but butterscotch is a family favorite too. You can also you different flavors of protein powder."

These are great! I couldn't stop myself from eating the dough, as its so full of great little bits. They have been one of my favorite go-to recipes for about 7 years now. I add a slight bit of moisture to the dough, usually with a tablespoon or two of milk, sometimes molasses, or apple sauce. The extra moisture really makes a difference and t...

Turned out great. Batter seemed a bit thin, but turned out fine. I cut the recipe in half and it made 3 waffles. I replaced the butter with apple sauce and doubled the nuts. Delicious and hearty."

Made a really thick, moist pizza, the way I like it. It came together really well mixed in my kitchen aid. I mixed in a little extra flour, but not much. I'm sure it would make a more normal pizza if stretched out to a more normal size. Will make again."

I've made this recipe 5 or 6 times and still absolutely love it. I feel like I have a good, solid start to the day with just a half cup of this. Lots of good energy. I do leave out the brown sugar as I am trying to reduce sugar in my diet, and the molasses adds tons of flavor. I usually cook it longer than stated to get the right crunch. Tha...

    Reviewed Chocolate Mousse

    Sunday, Sep 18, 2011 on

The recipe is great for what it is. I halved it and it made a TON, I couldn't imagine needing to double the recipe for 7 people. I prefer real mousse made with eggs and such, but didn't want to take the time, so this is a great substitute. I melted the chocolate in the microwave with milk. I had no problems with anything seizing, it came out ...

    Monday, Aug 22, 2011 on

"I bought an old bread machine off craigslist today and was hoping someone would be able to help me figure out what size loaf it is. I know its not two pounds, I used to have one of those. I suspect its only a pound, but it could be one and a half? I can figure out the volume of the container with water, but want to know what is the volume of a 1..."
