    About Me

    I have been married to the same lovely man for twenty years now. We have one child, a 17 year old son. I love to cook and they love to eat. I live in the western suburbs of Sydney and I am fortunate enough to be a stay at home housewife. I used to work in a bank many years ago and I don't miss it a bit. For fun we like to go for picnics, particularly to the beaches on the south coast of New South Wales. We like to go for long walks along the water's edge and my husband chips oysters off the rock platforms for me.A labour of love, he hates 'em!!

    I like to use cook books of all kinds. Modern one's like those published by the Australian Women's Weekly magazine and old ones from the fifties that you find in trash and treasure markets.
    I enjoy reading and some craft work like cross stitch embroidery and I am just learning beading.
    I don't have many pet peeves. I just try to treat people the way I'd like them to treat me. The computer drives me crazy though, because I am pretty inexperienced in using it and we come to loggerheads quite often!
    One of the things that attracted me to join this site was the kind way most people seem to interact here. I find so much encouragement and help being offered. It quite restores one's faith in humanity.

    Favorite Foods

    My favourite foods include all seafood, particularly prawns. I am very fond of fruit particularly things that are tart as well as sweet, like pineapple, passionfruit, grapefruits, lemon and orange.
    I love Asian cuisine particularly Chinese and Japanese. I love to cook these things myself as well as go to restaurants to enjoy them.
    My background is German so I have cooked many recipes taught to me by my grandmother. Things like dumplings of many kinds, rouladen, red cabbage and buttercream tortes.
    There's not a lot of things I don't like except for most fast food outlet stuff. I'd rather not eat than go to the golden arches.I love fresh tasty food. It is better to have a small quantity of something really superb than plates and plates of mediocrity.
