Hello everyone! Welcome to my profile page.
I have recently retired. I enjoy being home with DH, making tasty, low calorie meals and going out to dinner on occasion. Love the warm weather here in Florida, but the humidity not so much. I come to Food.com almost every day because I love reading the reviews, learning new tips and finding fantastic recipes to try. Thank you very much to all who have tried and rated recipes I have posted.
I enjoy fresh lobster, salmon, swordfish, N.Y. strip, veal parmesan, and pizza but I really like most all foods.
My favorite restaurant at the moment is the Okeechobee Steak House - award-winning, delicious steak.
Husband and firefighter/EMT son like my chili mac - they think it tastes a lot like Steak N Shake's chili mac. It is great for a meatless meal, too (the beef is an optional ingredient).
I like to make pork chops on the grill - Preheat the grill on high-take 3/4 thick bone-in chops (remove from fridge about 15 to take the chill off), brush both sides with olive oil, lay on a hot grill, sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper. Grill, med-high heat (with the top open) for 5 min. Turn the chops. Sprinkle with kosher salt & pepper. Lower heat to medium. Close the lid and grill for 7 minutes. Always results in a tasty, juicy porkchop.
