I live in Southern California with my wonderful husband of 15 years. He keeps trying to get away, but I'm tenacious.
I love movies, Hollywood history, British history, Art history (medieval, Renaissance), oh, heck, I just love history in general.
I collect odd bits of information and I love sharing it. Which has caused me to be called a "female Cliffie Clavin", since I'm like the mail carrier on Cheers. Except, of course, I am entertaining, not a Republican and people enjoy my company. Honest. Really.
All my friends have decided that I am no longer allowed to visit them if they are recovering from surgery. I make them laugh too much- stitches have been known to loosen.
Watching movies, Star Trek (Original and Next Gen), reading, playing boardgames, mindlessly playing RPG's on my computer or on the Xbox, rubber stamping, starting cross-stitch projects, meeting new people and spending time in good conversation are some of my favorite pastimes.
I am grateful that Dragon Age: Origins is not an illegal substance, because I would be admitted to rehab by now. And believe me, it wouldn't take. I'm too far gone.
In my world darts, bowling and air hockey are considered sports- with air hockey counting as a blood sport. Never leave a finger over the edge. I enjoy curling, even though I am more a spectator than a participant.
I have traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, England, Wales, Canada and Fiji (for 28 hours). When we were coming over from England we made a stop in Greenland, but I don't count it, since I was only 2 and remember nothing about the trip. I'm told it was dark and bitter-cold.
I am an Atheist. I dabble in poetry and have a habit of scribbling ideas for stories on random bits of paper. I don't do anything with them, but I feel better for it. I have an active inner life :)
One of my biggest pet peeves is people who pull out in front of me on the road, then drive slowly. They couldn't wait for me to fly by? Especially when there's no one behind me. Ugh- I'm upset just typing it!
Must go and find a Violet Crumble bar to calm myself.... or a nice bowl of warm Bird's custard. Yes, that will work just fine. Better yet, I could hop onto the Xbox360 and slap some evil Darkspawn around :)
I love pasta, beef, tomatoes, potatoes, cheese fondue, my Mom's Yorkshire Pudding, my Nanny's stuffing and Aunt Letty's Red Cabbage Salad. My specialty is still under development. I enjoy making casseroles, they are so easy and fun. I want to learn to bake; I've never made a cake from scratch and plan on rectifying that.
