My name is Nona and I love to cook! I've lived in California most of my adult years but certainly lived in many places when I was younger from being a brat ;-) Military brat that is and once a brat, always a brat.
I don't really like to eat out unless traveling because there is just too many foods I want to cook. I have more than 500 English language and over 400 Japanese language cookbooks. Besides those, I've been collecting recipes since mid 1960's and still have all of them.....oh boy! I wake up thinking about food and what to cook, and right after eating dinner, I start planning what to to make next day. This love of food is relentless LOL.
Besides working my regular job during the day, I worked part-time as a chef assistant during evening hours at a culinary school here in SF Bay Area assisting many well-known chefs from the US and cookbook authors. I learned a lot from working with them.
I'm originally from Tokyo Japan and now call California my home, but return to Japan twice a year to check out the food scene and see my relatives and old friends. Happy cooking to you all!
Japanese and after Japanese practically everything.
