Besides cooking, I love to read, write, and swim. I'm also a bit artistically inclined. I'm in high school, but I'm working hard so I can start college classes early. I have a weakness for expensive makeup, and I can usually be found messing with my pet cat Jinx.
Growing up I had a lot of different influences food wise. My father cooked a lot of Greek and Middle Eastern food. My mother's family in heavily Scandinavian but as long as I can remember she's been whipping up amazing Italian food. Many of my friends growing up were 1st generation Americans or recent emigrants, and their parents brought with them amazing authentic recipes from Latin America and Asia. All of these influences have definitely shaped what I cook and how I think about food. =)
