    Reviewed Tomato and Barley Soup

"We are big fans of barley soups and this is a very good barley soup. It was very filling and warming which was perfect for a cold almost summer's night in London. The only changes I made were to go for the vegetable stock because it was what I had and to skip the oil and use a cooking spray instead to lower the fat of the soup to next to nothing..."

    Reviewed Avocado Stuffed With Shrimp
    Handle
     |  (3 people found this helpful) |  By WiGal

"I really enjoyed the combination of the creamy shrimp with the naturally creamy texture of the avocado. Since avacado has such a high (healthy fat content, I went with fat free mayo for the mixture and that worked very well. Once everything was piled up, it did become a bit fiddly to eat. I ended up scooping everything out of the avocado and mixi..."

"At first when I read the list of ingredients I was unsure about the mint. However, it turned out to be the star of the recipe for me. There isn't too much of it but what there is really lifts the taste of the shrimp. I put mine on wooden skewers and did them under the oven grill. Made for the Zee Zany Zesty Cookz for ZWT 6."

"There is something about the smell of this cabbage that took me right back to my Nana's kitchen. PA Dutch women must do something very similar because it was a comforting taste too. Yummy, very low fat, filling and easy. Works for me! Made for Zaarstar tag."

"This was a different way for us to enjoy lentils. My husband thought it was a bit overly sweet for him but said he liked the concept. I didn't have a problem with it at all. So, I will do it again but with a bit less syrup. Made for Vegetarian Swap."

"I want to give 3 1/2 stars because I really like the concept of these and I know they can be a 4 star ore more recipe. The problem was that I couldn't get them to crisp up at all on the waffle iron no matter what I did. They were just floppy and limp but not too bad tasting. I think maybe if I had mode the mixture as pancakes I would be raving. Ma..."

"Three ingredients that aren't basic seasoning but so much flavour! I too think it doesn't need salt in the future because the cheese has such a salty nature but that is personal taste. I used British Stilton as the cheese and loved the rich taste against the clean crisp of the celery. Made for Zee Zany Zesty Cookz for the Family Picks portion of ..."

"A contender for one of my favourite dishes I have tried on the world tour. It was easy, healthy and tasted great. I had a little less fresh mint than I needed. So, I stirred through a bit of dried mint too and it worked really nicely with the rest of the ingredients. I served this alongside salmon and it was a nice pairing. Made for Zee Zany Zesty..."

"Very different than flavour combos that I am used to but enjoyable. I too left the sugar out because I was sure it would be sweet enough and it was indeed. Made for Zee Zany Zesty Cookz for ZWT6."
