    About Me

BULLETIN: I am so frustated with Big Oven screwing up and having to be reinstalled and "losing" my recipes that I am now posting everything to Recipezaar! Some of them might seem duplicates of others, or too simple or too complicated or even weird (!) but this is the only way I can insure the safety of my recipes and I've wanted to share more anyway :)

I live in Edmonton, Alberta and have been cooking for about 20 years. I am a divorced mom with three kids (two have moved to their own places now) who are my prime taste testers for my recipes. My background is Turkish, but I enjoy cooking and eating all kinds of different cuisines. I've lived in Canada since I was 6 years old, and consider it a great place to be. I am also a cat lover with two spoiled brats residing with me.
My hobbies are reading, especially science fiction, real science, mystery, history, and anything else that piques my interest, anything to do with computers, including working with them, fixing them, playing games on them, taking apart the guts on them, etc., music, especially hard rock, both classic and modern, classical, new world, new age, punk, and anything that happens to catch my fancy. I also enjoy reading tarot (my grandmother used to read Turkish coffee grounds), cross stitching, and COOKING! I experiment a lot, and have a very open mind, and I also like to communicate with other people who share my interests, which is why I joined Recipezaar! I have found a lot of great recipes on this site, which is only one of the reasons I think this is the best of the recipe sharing sites out there.

    Favorite Foods

Anything with lemon, olive oil and garlic, ha ha! I love Turkish and Greek cuisines, this is what I grew up on. I also love Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Asian and French cuisines, and also newer cuisines from North America, especially barbecuing in summer. I love the Food Network, and am always on the lookout for new and interesting recipes. I'm also a sucker for a good, grilled medium rare steak (and Alberta beef's the best!)
