"Tried the shortcake tonight for a potluck. It went together very easy--especially after I decided it would be easier to gently break the angel food into small chunks instead of cutting into cubes--I think it came out the same in the end. I envisioned it being cake height, but in actuality it was only about an inch high and a bit difficult to serve..."
"These were excellent! I left out the almond extract and used all butter instead of half shortening and half butter. Could be made with a variety of flavors of pudding and chips. Imagine chocolate pudding and peanut butter chips or butterscotch pudding and chips. I will be making these often and try every possibility!"
"This was fantastic! Nice flavor, beautiful presentation. Just the right balance to the seasonings. Sauce was perfect. Thanks for a great recipe."
"Cooked up my last turkey this way--used everything exactly per recipe except didn't have allspice berries. The meat was tender and moist and not the slightest bit salty. A(lton showed the science behind why the salt isn't absorbed into the meat, but I don't remember the specifics.) I'm a brining convert!"
"I'll join the bandwagon--these are great! I also cooked them very slow--a little over 3 hours at 300. Don't usually use Old Bay Seasoning so I did a search and found a copycat recipe on foodtv.com and made a small amount of "Old Bay" just for this recipe. Lined the pans with trusty parchment paper to help with the clean up--wasn't too bad, but..."
"This was fabulous! Sauce thickened up to consistency of tomato paste during 20 minute simmer, but waited it out to add more liquid as you add 1/2 cup wine at end. It was still a bit thick after that so I splashed in about 1/4 cup more chicken stock. Also, I added more Tabasco and 1/4 teaspoon crushed red chili pepper while sauce was simmering...."
"These are great! I cooked them in a large frypan with a lid and drop the meatballs in after I get the sauce simmering. The meatballs stay intact better this way. My kids love these.UPDATE: Fixed these again tonight and was inspired to add in a teaspoon or so of "Emeril's Essence". Very tasty."
"I had to join the crowd and find out what all the fuss was about. This recipe was a disappointment. Easy to make, but very bland. No WOW factor at all."
"This was fantastic! I don't like food too spicy and this was just right for me--just enough to let you know there was a bit of cayenne in it! I served it with rice and fresh baby spinach leaves and just spooned the sauce over all. Thanks for sharing this recipe!"
"Excellent pie. Easy to make and delicious. My kids love puddings too, so I can see we will be making this in all its pudding variations as well: vanilla, coconut or banana. Almost as easy as pudding out of the box but much tastier! Update..this was so good I couldn't wait to try it again as a coconut cream pie. My daughter suggested I cover top w..."
