    About Me

I am a cooking enthusiast, and own and run my own cooking website(s). My personal site is http://sharonanne.com. I am very gadget oriented; I love sharing insights on how to better use the ?stuff? we do or would like to own. This is ONE of the reasons why I started my website, reviewing mainly cooking items. The other reason was to reduce the need to email recipes and tips (over and over) to cooking friends. My wonderful cooking list mainly grew from my website, and it is where I ?almost? exclusively share recipes (except for having become aquainted with Recipezaar). My own cooking list is at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sharealikecooking/

I teach cooking classes locally, to live audiences, and also teach ?live? classes online, with VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol). Even though I am more about TIPS & TECHNIQUES, instead of recipes, the local class-favorites always includes a number of my favorite bread recipes. One day I hope to have a ?bread-making? video produced for the Internet, but for now I am only offering my highly popular (but scaled down) homemade ?buttermilk? portion of my bread classes. Recently, I've taken a break from teaching, to make an increased and concentrated effort to finish my own cookbooks. These have evolved from my many cooking ?journals? with my kitchen and teaching experiences, and my very favorites from my closest of friends and family.

I have a cooking partner, which I have cooked with for over a decade. She and I cook for one another (just one night a week). By doubling our efforts, we deliver the extra (to each other) and our kitchens stay relatively clean, on the night the other cooks! We absolutely LOVE it, and take extra care doing a nice job for each other, without any implied competition, other than a generous reciprocation. We both love to experiment, and since she is far more appreciative than my own family can be, this spurs on the desire to be ?culinary-creative?. Sure we keep in mind to make our dinners ?kid-friendly? meals, but you know how kids are with, ?why can?t we have this, or that, instead??

I enjoy amateur-cooking photography and my dear family is so patient with me (sometimes) waiting for me to photograph a new recipe, before they are allowed to dig in! They?re use to it by now, I guess, lol! Often it takes longer to get the ?perfect? shot, than it does to make the food in the first place (ugh). I never get over the fact that 9 out of 10 times, my first shot is usually my favorite, but I hate to take the chance it?s not, as I?ve got those hungry people waiting to EAT!

If you are interested in my TIPS & TECHNIQUES or recipes, you are invited to visit either of my cooking sites!

    Warmly,
    Sharon Anne
