I just added the first of the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton to my TBR pile, but I'm afraid it's gonna be awhile before I get to it. I just finished Fannie Flagg's new one-Redbird Christmas-it was a quick, sweet holiday read and I always enjoy her characters. Now on to-And A Puzzle To Die On by Parnell Hall-it's the 6th in the Puzzle Lady Series-so far so good. Mickie
Wicked, The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West - by Gregory McGuire - that was a good book! Pretty intense!I belong to a neighborhood book club and our book for next month is Amagansst by Mike Mills - anyone read it yet? It is nonfiction.

[quote:b186d72e5b="Shar-on"]Have you noticed that on each recipe there is a gray box with all sorts of things you can do and one is to change the number of serving. So you can change all recipes to 1 or 2 servings and have a much bigger variety of recipes in small portions. You can change the servings, then print them out and have your cooking for 1 or 2 recipe book. Have fun.[/quote:b186d72e5b]Well, duh, Audrey........Can you tell I'm getting old!!!!!I will do this. I don't know why I didn't think of this. I have used that feature several times, but for some reason, it just never came to mind.JQ :)
Buy a carpet cleaner[/color:5120cfa7f3]! In the middle of the night when your child is projectile vomitting, nothing else can clean it up. I always thought places like Babies RUs should have these and encourage people to register for them instead of all of the useless stuff you get with your first child.Read lots! Parents magazine [/color:5120cfa7f3]is a good source of information. I'd recommend it to any parent. If you stay home with your child, find or start a playgroup[/color:5120cfa7f3]. This is not for your child's benefit, it's for yours. Take your baby to one of those ridiculous baby classes like Gymboree (yes, I know it's wonderful, I've logged in many hours at classes like this). Their sole function is to give you a way to meet other moms. Invite them from lunch and go from there. It will save your sanity later.Child proof [/color:5120cfa7f3]earlier than later. Anchor large pieces of furniture to the wall. Here's a link to what I'm talking about: http://www.onestepahead.com/product/27181/205/117.htmlRead the instruction book that comes with your car seat [/color:5120cfa7f3]and make sure you've installed it and use it correctly!Have fun[/color:5120cfa7f3]! You can't believe how fast it goes by![/color:5120cfa7f3][/color:5120cfa7f3]
