I am the host of the Contest & Events Forum and I also host several events throughout the year.
Ready, Set, Cook! has been a not so secret passion of mine and I've kept the cookbooks for all past rounds of Ready, Set, Cook as well as hosted/directed it as it grew from contest #5-#18. From this point foward the food.com staff will be using the RSC name for sponsor driven contests. Our community contests will move forward with a new (to be determined) name. You can view all of these wonderful, inventive recipes as well as the entries from the Craze-E Category Contest and Dining on a Dollar Contests by viewing my public cookbooks. There are some treasures within!
Pick A Chef is another fun event and I am lucky to be helped with this massive project by a team of wonderful people. It started small and has grown into a massive twice annual event.
The Zaar World Tour is an annual event held in the summer. All are invited to join us a we virtually cook our way around the world. It's a fun team experience and highly anticipated every year.
I'll try almost anything.... once. My favorite recipes are eclectic and cover everything from gourmet to comfort food, from recipes requiring all day to quick to fix, and lower fat regulars to high calorie splurges.
I do tend to prefer spicy fare and tart, lemony flavors. My husband is a sport, will try anything I prepare, thank me for making it, and rate the dish with stars since I found zaar. Sadly he isn't as fond of spicy, but he'll dive into testing sweets so we balance out. He's still my best friend all of these years later. I do consider myself very lucky!
