I am married and a SAHM of 4 kiddos...I have been reading and collecting recipes and cookbooks since I was a little girl. I have a fondness for community and church cookbooks but my library is filled with all types. When browsing zaar I can not resist clicking on any recipe that is a 'family tradition', 'grandmas', or 'clipped from the paper 30 years ago' or for that matter anything that has the word 'lemon' in it. I am trying real hard to incorporate a healthier way of eating into our lives and zaar has been a tremendous tool in accomplishing that. I love trying lots of different recipes on zaar as well as just browsing. One of the things I love about it here is the ability to find first rate recipes that really make an impact on what I make for my family. I have found several recipes that are now becoming a 'tradition' in our home...and I really value them!
I would say my favorite foods would have to be carne asada tacos, spicy camarones, chile rellenos, pollo con rajas, and other mexican style foods~I really love the flavors of cilantro, lime and jalapenos~I do like spicy. I also love seafood~dungeness crab, prawns, and ling cod. I can't resist a grilled new york steak with a baked potato and crisp green salad....Gosh I am getting hungery just thinking about it, ha ha! I definitely crave good ol' American comfort food and enjoy a variety of asian cuisines. Fruits, vegetables, and salads are always on my menus and I LOVE fried zucchini but don't get to eat it that often...Oh and I also love grilling and Bbq. Hmmm Eggs benedict is up there on my list...oh and avocados...can't forget them....mmhhhh! I am also a big tea drinker~both iced and hot...Can't finish with out mentioning chicken wings, chicken marsala, french dips, and sour dough rolls with unsalted butter. Gosh! I think I may like it all...lol. I won't even get started on baking and sweets:-)
