    About Me

My job takes me on the road all the time - 40,000+ miles a year. When I get home I relax by cooking. My wife is both my guinea pig and my fan club. We've raised a house full of boys - one son, several nephews, a rotating cast of hungry friends - and they've cooperated through the years by filling up on my experiments. My "nom de chef" (TOM) stands for what the boys call me, "The Old Man."

    Favorite Foods

Many types: Mexican, Italian, seafood, down-home cooking. There's a great little neighborhood Tex-Mex place nearby called Arturo's, not a chain, just a friendly family-run storefront restaurant. I like Olive Garden for Italian. My favorite seafood place closed several years ago, Christie's in San Antonio. For lots of variety on the road, I often stop at Golden Corral, Ryan's or Western Sizzlin - but when I have the time, I get a kick out of finding home-town cafes in little towns off the Interstates.
