Reviewed Sausages With Potatoes and Rosemary
"Delicious! What a great new way to use pork sausages. I made it just as written, although I did drizzle a little extra olive oil on top of the pieces of ciabatta before putting the casserole back in the oven. My husband and son commented on how good this was and have asked me to make it again!"

Our family moved to Florida from New York in the 90's, so I've brought not only many of the recipes my family has passed down, but have learned to cook some great Southern dishes as well. When I found RZ, it opened up a whole new world of cooking -- cuisine from different countries, tried-and-true family hand-me-down recipes, and some interesting and delicious dishes I would never have found on my own.
My older kids grew up eating healthy, but usually uninspired, meals during the week. By the time I got home from work, I was just happy to get a balanced meal on the table before it got too late. My oldest three have grown up and moved out, and I am fortunate to be a stay-at-home Mom now to my youngest son, Michael. He has grown up eating all kinds of food -- classic comforting dishes, what he calls "fancy" food and also what he has named "weird" food that none of his friends eat.
Michael is 14 now, and he makes me smile when he occasionally critiques the food, describing how it tastes and why he likes or dislikes a particular ingredient. I tend to do that when I try a dish I've never made before, so I guess he's picked it up. Michael still loves his favorites, though -- a good bowl of mac & cheese, a gooey brownie, and he is overjoyed when I take him out to McDonald's, a rare treat. For junk food, I usually like pizza or chicken wings. There are a LOT of good chicken wing recipes here ---- yumm!
Here's my big guy, Michael, who's willing to give any type of food a try....
My favorite foods are steak (especially a delicious marinated and grilled skirt steak), seafood, and anything hot and spicy. I've also made some vegetarian dinners -- they are a healthy alternative to all the "meat and potatoes" dishes I grew up with. I've found lots of recipes with grains, tofu, etc. here and we've come to really enjoy them, so I try to incorporate a few into our weekly meals.
