    About Me

We're a family of 3, Me, Teddy, and Teddy's Daddy. Since Teddy does not get to enjoy "people food" I look for recipes I can easily change to serve 2.

After reading various postings by others, and talking to people I am finding I must be very lucky. Teddy's Daddy will try almost anything and loves it when I experiment with new recipes! He DOES ask what's in it frequently before tasting it, while looking at it with a suspicious eye when I bring him "just a taste" of something I am making but if I plate it up and bring it out he's ready to go!

Teddy's Daddy thinks I am crazy for being willing to cook 2-3 hours on a work night, but having a tasty nutritious meal for dinner is one of the most important things to me no matter how tired I am. I need to look into OAMC... but I am nervous about how "fresh" it will taste. We both work full time so it's usually quite late when we're finished with dinner.

In my spare time I enjoy cooking (LOL or I wouldn't be here), playing computer games (I am currently enjoying Dragon Age), reading, and I have just started to get into gardening.

    :More About Teddy:
He's a very sweet and loving boy. I couldn't ask for a better "child". He's certainly not your typical cat, he knows his name very well and comes when called. He knows what he is and is not allowed to do, and while he'll still "tests the boundaries" at times if you call him on it he has enough intelligence to realize what he did wrong and feel guilty for it. He loves his mommy very much and gets distraught when he's done something wrong to upset her. I usually have to console him after I verbally discipline him or he'll sit in a corner and cry like a human baby. He LOVES new people, every time the doorbell rings he runs to the door to see who it is :-)

Some people think Teddy looks rather strange, he's what is referred to as a "Scottish Fold" it's a newer breed (around 1964 I think) that they mix with British Short Hair or American Short Hair to make the breed more stable. Teddy's breed may look familiar to you, he's mixed with a British Short Hair hence the amber eyes, and "blue" coat :-)

Teddy is a rescue, when he was given into my care he weighed 6 lbs, and he now weighs 15. (that's with no change in frame size he was full grown when I got him) He was so skinny & weak but his head was normal sized, when he tried to walk he would faceplant because his body was so light compared to his head. :-( He has a bit of an eating disorder (he eats to much) but considering this was him the week I got him (over 3 years ago) I will indulge him.

My biggest cooking pet peeve is when I don't have everything a recipe calls for. I am all for improvising, but not the first time I make a new recipe.

    Favorite Foods

Teddy likes poached chicken breasts and bacon (he gets neither one very often)

Personally I like to cook all types of food especially Greek, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese and Indian.

    Spicy is a good thing!

Favorite Restaurant.. hmm well I don't know they all seem to be a disappointment these days, either the food is terrible, or the service is, or the other diners are, or all of the above. I prefer to cook a good meal like Pan Seared Ahi with wasabi sauce on a bed of Daikon at home or something these days.

Here are a few of our favorite recipes from the wonderful people here at 'Zaar!

I usually print recipes as I need them but I found myself printing these SO often I put them in their own little binder on the kitchen counter :)
