    About Me

    I live in Texas (obviously) and have my entire life. I teach preschool part-time, and I'm married with 3 children. Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies, as well as reading. I have been known to spend hours reading cookbooks actually, and I collect them, too. I like to put on music and sip wine while I cook. I find it very relaxing. My non-cook friends think that is weird(well, not the wine part but the cooking part)! I also do some small scale catering for my MIL's business ocasionally so I am always trying out new recipes. I have thousands of recipes, some in books, most on scraps of paper and note cards. I like that I can save them here (and reduce my clutter in the kitchen!), and keep them private until I can try them all out. Now that I know how to post, I will be doing more of that soon. I have enjoyed trying out new recipes and I hope that ya'll will enjoy mine as well!

    Favorite Foods

    I like just about anything to eat, especially Mexican or Italian. I keep ingredients on hand for easy meals when I'm short on time, such as chicken a la king or enchiladas. Those are two of my family's favorites. I love to try out recipes for appetizers and soups. I cook pretty much every night, but with 3 kids it's hard sometimes. That's why I try to keep several "go-to" recipe ingredients on hand rather than visit a fast food restaurant. I'm in no way a food snob; I like my Taco Bell once in a while, but I want my kids to see that it's not too hard or time consuming to eat well, not to mention much less expensive. It helps that my DH cooks too. In fact, he's the turkey guy at Thanksgiving! Thank God, because now I don't have to learn how to roast a turkey!
