"A delicious salsa with char-grilled, smokey tomatoes and a perfect combination of jalapenos, cilantro and lime with just a touch of sweetness."

Shared Recipe Delicious Grilled London Broil

"I have made London Broil frequently in the past, sometimes from recipes, sometimes my own concoctions but the preparation has always involved a long marinade to help tenderize and flavorize the meat. I have used a myriad of different combinations; soy, garlic, balsamic, honey, brown sugar and ginger have all been employed and generally the results ..."

    Shared Recipe Austrian Raspberry/Blueberry Shortbread

"I actually first saw their Austrian Shortbread recipe years ago in Gourmet Magazine. I was intrigued with the interesting yet simple technique involved in achieving an extremely light textured shortbread (see recipe). I originally made it just as the recipe specifies layering raspberry jam between the two layers, but recently decided to try a less..."

Shared Recipe Best Chicken Salad - Ever!

"An herb and lemony chicken salad, made with a fantastic homemade mayonnaise that takes this already yummy salad right over the top. You can whip it up long before you can run to the store for a more expensive and less tasty product. Fabulous for sandwiches, salads, etc."

    About Me

The intricacies of cooking and baking have fascinated me for as long as I can remember, so the birth of this blog is something I've been dreaming about for some time now. My husband says that I read cookbooks like "normal" people read novels and often refers to me as the crazy "chemist" in the kitchen.
If you and I were to go out to a good restaurant, you would most likely find me analyzing and "de-constructing" the food (in my mind of course) as I enjoy it. Often the following day you'd smell suspiciously similar aromas wafting from my kitchen!
When a new cooking magazine arrives in the mail I am thrilled and can hardly wait to steal away a few moments to peruse.
Although I really enjoy baking (my friends and co-workers will attest to this as they are so often my "guinea pigs"), I also love preparing and coming up with recipes using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. For me, it's a fun challenge to keep our meals healthy, but at the same time delicious. That way, when the baking impulse overtakes me, I don't have to feel quite so terribly guilty. My blog will offer recipes that mirror this philosophy - I hope you enjoy it!
