My husband and I love to spend time and the kitchen. We are simple, nothing-too-fancy chefs. We occasionally like to venture out and try new recipes, but tend to stick to the familiar.
My husband, John, will eat pretty much anything, but I am a pretty picky eater. For example, I won't eat mushrooms, squash, okra, or olives. I will eat green peas, but only in certain circumstances.
I will try to use this venue as a place to post my favorite recipes and hopefully will share some that might be new to others, or discover a few new ones myself.
My favorite meal is probably eggs, grits, bacon, and toast.
I also love my husband's chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes -- I won't order it out anymore!
We are fans of Thai food, and, being from Texas, we love Tex-Mex and Texas-style barbecue.
