    Shared Recipe Family Favorite Oatmeal

"After trying a recipe called "Cream of Wheat with Egg and Vanilla", I thought why not try it with oatmeal? It was a big hit, and I never make oatmeal any other way now. I love getting extra protein in the kids in the morning. Use certified gluten free oats to make this officially gluten free.

Reviewed Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins (Like Starbucks)

"Very delicious! I can;t remember what the Starbucks version tastes like now (gluten free for a while so no more tasty pastries with my coffee), but these were very good. I was a little unsure how they would turn out because the batter was very bitter, but they were not bitter at all after they were baked. I suspect it may have been from the g..."

Shared Recipe Gluten Free Buttermilk Cornbread Muffins from the Baking Beautie

"If you like sweet, moist cornbread then this is the last recipe you'll ever need. My husband, who does not like cornbread, said "wow, this is really good" and he does not hand out comments like that often. Easy to make and super delicious! Recipe from thebakingbeauties.com

Shared Recipe Homemade Western Style Salad Dressing

"I found a recipe on cooks.com and tried it. It had a flavor very close to the name brand stuff in the store, but I thought it was a bit too thin. The second time I made it, I had to substitute rice vinegar for the cider vinegar and I messed around with it until it was to my liking. I think I prefer it with rice vinegar, although if you don't like ri..."

    About Me

I am a Christian wife and mother of 2, stepmother to 3. I have cooked since I was very young and have fond memories of my Grandmother teaching me how to knead bread. Opening the cupboards and refrigerator to find 'there's nothing here to eat' is a challenge that I love - some of my best dishes were forged out of scarcity! Now, adding the need for gluten/wheat free cooking really stretches me, but I am  enjoying exploring this new way of eating and finding ways to make recipes affordable.

Recipes are guidelines for me, generally speaking. I almost always modify and experiment. My family loves my cooking and I love to cook for my family!

    Favorite Foods

Spaghetti, pizza, lasagna...well, tomatoes and anything made from tomatoes!

I'll pass on mushrooms, beets and wild meats, thank you very much...
