    About Me

I love the cookie recipes I get here. Any time we have a large amount of a certain food, or something that we just can't get rid of, I find a recipe here that is edible and helps me use up the extra weird food we keep around this house, so we can use the cabinet space for stuff we want. It comes in handy when i don't have a lot of grocery money. Just make food from what we have. What a novel concept. Every holiday season, I bake cookies from here and other sources and some people rave and rave about them.

My mom was a huge fan of the Old Settlement Cook Book. I say, it has some good recipes, and other ones not so good. Some of the cookies I made from that book will break your teeth.

    Favorite Foods

    Vegetarian, foriegn, baked goods, pizza.

My favorite cookies: Bourbon balls, peanut butter kisses (with the Hershey's kiss on top),
and fried rosettes with powdered sugar. Rosettes probably have an unpronounceable Nordic name too. I don't know it. I believe they are from the old Settlement Cook Book.

My family prefers: The Old Settlement Cook Book banana nut bread recipe, cream cheese kolackys with powdered sugar, pecan crescents with powdered sugar, and microwave chocolate fudge.
