    About Me

In Louisiana, we eat about things.  Got a problem?  Let's eat something.  Have some happy news?  Great, let's go eat.  But we're very particular about WHAT we eat.  Some of my recipes will be simple things to feed lots of hungry kids.  But my favorites are the ones that I've collected over the years that take all afternoon to prepare and cook (like gumbo).  There is nothing more relaxing to me that chopping onions and bell pepper, while sipping a glass of wine and talking to a friend sitting at my kitchen bar.  Good times.

By day, I'm an oil & gas title analyst, but on nights and weekends, I'm in my kitchen cooking.

I love the process of cooking....planning, preparing, etc.  I read cookbooks from cover to cover.  I go out hunting & gathering on Saturday mornings to local farms, farmers markets and specialty grocers.  I believe in supporting my local farmers, fishermen, etc.

My style of cooking (and eating) is currently evolving into a Paleo type diet (lean meats & seafood, fresh vegetables and fruits).  However, this does not mean I do not love to bake something delicious to give away to family and friends.

My biggest pet peeve is hearing I don't like that...well, have you tried it.... 'No, but it sounds bad.  What???  How do you know unless you try?  And you need to try it more than once to make the statement of I don't like that.  Me...I don't like cantaloupe.  I've tried.  Can't do it.

    Favorite Foods

I love seafood of all kinds.  Fresh vegetables and fruits.  My downfall is party food (dips, etc.).  Just keep me away from the dip table and no one will get hurt.
