    About Me

I love to cook, whether it is at home or on the trail when backpacking and hiking.

We run websites devoted to trail cooking and lightweight backpacking as well as getting women out in the outdoors. If I can help others learn how to eat good and carry less weight while backpacking, then I have done my job!

I am self employed, running the gear shop on our website. I also do what is called "cottage gear" where I sew lightweight hiking gear. Hiking is my focus in life, and I am on the trail 2-3 days a week often, usually with my son in tow.

Four years ago my husband and I wrote our first trail cookbook (Freezer Bag Cooking: Trail Food Made Simple), we are writing books two and three currently.

I love food, talking food, shopping and well, being a low brow foodie.

    Favorite Foods

Anything whole grains, organic and yet sinfully good tasting!
