    About Me

I have been married to the man of my dreams for 21 years. Our 3 "kids" are our kitties. Our oldest is Sundance, a Garfield type kitty with a fat belly and a big lover. Then Patches, our only girl. She was very aloof when young but now she cannot get close enough or be around us enough and "talks to us constantly". Last, but certainly not least is Tweeky (he is my icon) who is a lap cat if there ever was one!
I have collected recipes and cookbooks for as long as I can remember and was always cooking with Mom as a child. I have more recipes now than I will ever live long enough to make, but at least I have plenty to choose from whenever I feel like making something different or special.
My other hobbies include needlework, antiquing, crosswords, collecting cat things, and just enjoying fine wines and stimulating converstion with good friends.
We started a tradition when we married, since we both loved cats, where we buy a cat ornament for our Christmas tree for each year we are married. Well after 21 years, there are alot of cats and it's tough to only buy one. LOL. It's a beautiful kitty tree.
We moved to Florida about three years ago and we both wonder why we waited so long. We love it here. I am having a love affair with the ocean and my hubby doesn't mind. I always wanted to live near the ocean.
Years ago I baked desserts for a restaurant where I worked as a server. I made mousse, pies, cheesecake, cakes, brownies, etc. What fun! The menu even said that the desserts were made by me!
I constantly watch/listen to FoodNetwork TV. You can learn alot about technique and get some good ideas or even get a good recipe or two. Drives the hubby crazy but he doesn't mind when I make something he loves.:)

    Favorite Foods

Favorites...Wow, it's hard to choose: all-time, I would say shrimp, but so many foods can taste so different depending on how they are prepared. I love Italian, French, Mexican (if not too hot), Chinese, Veggies,..it's all in how you prepare it and what your personal taste is!!!
We have not found a favorite restaurant in our new area of Florida. We go to different ones for different items. We eat out alot since we only get to eat together twice a week. (We are both in the restaurant industry). I don't get to cook as much as I would like but the hubby, bless his heart, says I work too hard to cook all day on my days off. For the Holidays I go all out from soup to nuts and enjoy every minute of it even though I have to fit it into a very busy schedule at those times of the year. I am sure they are busy for everyone, but those of you in the restaurant industry know what I mean.
