Business lady by day, yoga teacher, runner, hiker, gardener, cruciverbalist, (celiac) baker and chef in the off hours.
I'm a bit of health nut, I must admit, but have an incurable sweet-tooth. It's all about balance, right? I cultivated my love for growing, cooking and studying food and wine as I grew up and it's remained a huge part of my life. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease (gluten intolerance) 5 years back and have since then become quite adept and modifying favorite recipes to suit the lower fat, lower carb, gluten-free diet that fuels my life.
To me, cooking is theraputic, a way to nurture myself and others, a way to play with science/chemisrty (I love baking), a fun exercise in aesthetics, and a wonderful way to interact and become a part of the local ecosystem and economy. I am always excited to share these experiences with others and eager to try new things!
I'm a sucker for local and seasonal veggies and fresh fish and I'll do just about anything for seared scallops and steamed asparagus with a little balsamic...or any food involving peanut butter and/or chocolate...
