    Reviewed Mustard Balsamic Chicken Marinade

"I am a vegetarian and this is a good recipe for a vegetarian cooking for an omnivore because it can marinate one or two servings of chicken and the preparation is simple and fast. A quick round on the Foreman Grill and dinner is ready!"

    Reviewed Fried Okra

"I used the breading part of the recipe to make fried green tomatoes. Instead of buttermilk I used yogurt thinned with milk, and I used Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning since I had neither cayenne pepper nor garlic powder. Everyone who tried them was pleased with the crispness and flavor. Thanks for sharing!"

    Shared Recipe Oatmeal Muffins

"This quick and tasty recipe is based off a recipe found in this quarter's Penzey's Spices catalog. They always have wonderful recipes from readers. I added my own touches with flaxseed meal and substituting agave nectar for sugar. I use raisins and almonds in my recipe, though you can use other nuts. I "chop" the almonds by putting them in a plasti..."

    Reviewed Lemon Zucchini Bread

"This was so easy to make and very pretty when sliced. The green of the zucchini skin, the yellow lemon zest and the cinnamon accent the look. I substituted 3/4 cup of whole wheat pastry flour for half the white flour. It adds a great texture to the bread, complexity to the flavor and a healthy bonus. (Being a pastry flour, it doesn't weigh it down,..."

    About Me

I have a strong interest in seasonal cooking and buying locally.

I'm an American living in Spain.

My favorite dish to cook is Chipotle Pinto Beans over whole wheat corn bread. I'm famous for cooking good seasonal food, most especially sweet potato casserole in the winter. At the moment I don't have a favorite restaurant.

    Favorite Foods

Gazpacho, salmorejo, ajoblanco, curries, tortilla de patata, encebollado, collard greens, almost anything with tomato and chipotle, my grandma's green beans. Legumes! Especially beans and some starch, my favorite being beans with rice and a fried egg.
