    About Me

One of my favorite phrases is it's all about the food. Some live to eat, some eat to live. I cook to see the smiles and hear the ahh's of family and friends. Many of my favorite memories are in my mom's kitchen. Memories of all the smells, clanging pots, the feel of the worn wooden cooking spoons, mom's old cutting board, and the occasional opportunity to sneak a taster when she turned her back make me happy. It has resulted in a delicious love-hate relationship with wooden cooking spoons and inspired me to create similar memories for my family.

I continue to experiment with dark chocolate and garlic- it seems like a goal no one has yet acheived.

    Favorite Foods

Spicy, savory, and  hearty foods are my favorites- German , Mexican, Italian, Since I cannot travel to my hearts content, my kitchen allows me to experience the world. My favorite foods never contain lamb or white chocolate.

I rarely indulge in 'sweets'  but when I do, they tend to be heavy and rich more than sugary or overly sweet...except for cookies. My idea of a balanced diet is a cookie in each hand, and so I make them far more often than I eat them.
