Reviewed Peanut Butter and Bacon Truffles
    Handle
     |  By Grace Lynn

"Oh, how decadent!! Yummy! As an alternative to the cocoa powder coating, you can roll some truffles in powdered sugar or vanilla wafer crumbs or nonpareil candies, Another alternative would be to let the plain truffles set without rolling in anything, then melt a handful of white baking chips or peanut butter chips to drizzle over the tops of the ..."

    Reviewed Lime Blueberry Tiramisu
     |  By Verna #2

"This has all the earmarks of a family heirloom recipe: it's quick, easy, delicious, and looks good enough for company! Next time I'm gonna try using pink lemonade concentrate instead of lime, and I think I'll try adding about a tablespoonful of concentrate to the cheese-cream mixture. I can't wait! "

Reviewed The World-Famous Maine Lobster Roll
     |  By Verna #2

"Cucumber? Tarragon?? This chef is definitely NOT from Maine!! Chunks of fresh lobster, a LITTLE mayo to bind it together, and a toasted hot dog roll, and MAYBE a crisp leaf of lettuce is all there is to a real Maine lobster roll. It needs no further ingredients, the flavor of the lobster shines center stage in the original. While this recipe may ..."

"The only change I make is to make double the ganache. I spread half of it in the bottom of the baked crust, pour in the filling, and proceed as directed, topping the pie with the rest of the ganache. To die for!!!!"

"I am from Maine, so I am always on the lookout for great new lobster ideas. This is a masterpiece! My only change was for economical reasone: instead of 8 lobster claws (4 lobsters are expensive, I used 4 claws and 2 tails, sliced.

"My great-grandmother's recipe used ground meats, not diced. and her only veggies were potatoes and onion. She mashed the potatoes which thickened the filling. To adapt this recipe, however, I would suggest adding some instant mashed potato flakes at the end, just to thicken the sauce so the crust stays dry."

Reviewed Clean-The-Fridge Chopped Vegetable Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette
     |  By Verna #2

"Although the recipe says to use leftovers, I'm sure she means leftover RAW veggies. (I didn't see the show. I made it with raw veggies, and it was delicious! I especially love the cranberry vinaigrette. I used black olives instead of green, personal taste, and sprinkled with sunflower seeds. It would make a great summer meal with the addition ..."

    Reviewed Broccoli Salad
     |  By Verna #2

"I had a very similar broccoli salad sold at Walmart's deli, and loved it. I have been searching for a similar recipe, and...I FOUND IT! Thanks, Paula, I know I should have started the search with you. The only difference I can see is, Walmart added a little bit of shredded carrot and some sunflower seeds. They do add raisins. Now that I have th ..."

"Ok, the ingredients look intriguing, and would make a great salad. But this recipe is supposed to create a SKELETON, not a salad! How about some directions, or at least a photo for guidance?? I "got" celery ribs for ribs and baby carrot fingers, but what does the rest of the veggie selection portray? I'm reasonably intelligent, and have been co ..."

Reviewed White House Garden Herb-Roasted Chicken with Braised Greens
     |  (2 people found this helpful) |  By Verna #2

"As a fan of Simon & Garfunkel, I had to try this dish using "parsley, sage, rosemary amd thyme", and I'm glad I did. Delicious, easy, and satisfying. I had never had greens done this way, but I will again, perhaps with a splash of wine as suggested by someone else.
P.S. Desiree's comment appears to be politically inspired, not culinary. This ..."
