My name is Vanessa and I have been married to my husband Michael since August 10th, 2006. We both reside in Virginia (US) along with our cat Kylie and our dog Gambit. We both work for the same local telecommunications company and we love to hike / backpack and enjoy the outdoors.
I did not really learn how to cook growing up. After I began living with my now husband, I began fiddling around with different recipes and figured things out as I went along. Cooking is now like a hobby for me at times and this site is a big help. I get truly excited about cooking when looking at all the recipes on here. I especially enjoy posting the photos for the recipes, as I love photography and it is very gratifying to have those photos posted. It's a reminder of what we can create with just a few simple ingredients.
We really enjoy a variety of foods - Mexican, Italian, comfort food, etc. We really love spice as well. We will try most food but oddly enough both my husband and I are not a fan of the salad! He is a bit pickier about the vegetables than I am but we try to be as well-rounded with our meals as possible. Luckily enough, my husband has been a good sport with all the recipes that I have made from here.
