    About Me

I am retired and tired.  I love to laugh and spend a lot of time with my grandson.  I learned to quilt about 25 years ago and enjoy the creativity of it.  I am a voracious reader and a huge fan of "Apple/MacIntosh" anything.  I try to live by the  "KISS"  principle   ( Keep it simple stupid)  as that's where I have most of my successes.  My mother raised 3 daughters and instilled in us a love of good food.  We learned through her that recipes don't have to be expensive or elaborate  to be good.  My biggest problem with cooking has been changing my style to cooking and eating healthier.( Not exactly successful)  Mom taught us how to make food taste good while stretching it as far as possible. While this has worked in controlling our food budget, it hasn't done a lot towards controlling our waistlines.  I will keep trying though.  My daughter's influence is making it's mark, slowly but surely I am learning to cook healthier.  So onward I go, most of the kicking and screaming about it has settled down now, into a new lifestyle.  What all this means is that I still have some wonderful old recipes to share.  I hope you will try some of my old and some of my new favourites.
