Newly engaged and I'm a mother of 5 and busy as can be! I live in Tropical Minnesota. I look for easy, quick recipes that taste like comfort food without having to cook all day.
I love comfort food! New and different is great too, but I seem to fall back to mom and grandma's old fashioned recipes. I try to put a new spin on many of them by using low-fat cooking methods and have some good sugar-free conversions as well. My fiance loves to cook as well.
My biggest pet peeve... the word "moist". Hate it.
My all-time favorite is my mother's pot roast. If I can ever nail down how she makes it I'll publish it, but as it is with all great cooks -- some things you can't duplicate. I love cookies and pie (too much!) and I also love to try new recipes as well. I love to try and duplicate something I've had in a restaurant at home. Sometimes it works, and sometime's it doesn't. I'm famous for making Tomato and Basil Vermecelli, and Scalloped Corn at Thanksgiving - but those aren't my favorite things to make. I enjoy a challenge!

"A traditional German dessert consisting of an apple which has been stuffed and baked, then served with a warm vanilla cream sauce. Great way to end Christmas Eve dinner."
