I was born in Canada, and lived for many years on the east coast of the US. I moved to Germany in the late 80's and have been here ever since. I am very lucky to have a circle of friends who love to eat, as I enjoy trying new recipes out on them.
I enjoy travelling, various sports, reading and cooking. I am also a wine lover, and living in Germany there are lots of wine festivals - which include food galore - to attend. I adore trying the local foods and wines in the various countries I travel to.
I have an adorable 16 year old granddaughter who loves to bake "American" muffins with me.
I will eat almost anything at least once - except liver, kidneys or any other type of "internal organ". I don't think I have any real favourites - my favourite type of food is always that what I happen to be eating at the moment.
My German friends always want me to cook something "Canadian" for dinner and when we are home in Canada, everyone wants "German".
I think my favourite restaurant is a small restaurant in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, called L'Europa. It is run by a young Bavarian couple who bought it about 5 years ago. He is a master cook and the food is fabulous. I highly recommend it to anyone who happens to be there on vacation.
