Reviewed Shepherd's Pie With Garlic Potato Topping

"Very good! I just did regular mashed potatoes for the top; just a personal preference. I also mixed some mushroom Better than Bullion into the beef stock. I may have also added mushrooms to the mix, but I can't remember! I'm sure it would be good either way. It was excellent!"

Reviewed Kittencal's Best Chinese Fried Rice With Egg

"This is great; I needed a good fried rice recipe since I can no longer eat the little spice packet sold in the store (it has MSG in it). The only thing I may do next time is halve the soy sauce, ours came out a bit salty. I also added in about a cup of frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, green beans). Very good, this will be my go to reci..."

Reviewed Leftover Chicken or Turkey Rice Casserole

"This sounded good, but for me the thyme was way to overpowering. If I make it again, I think I'll substitute the thyme with Italian seasoning."

Reviewed Ultimate Black Bean and Rice Soup

"So delicious! I had to make some changes, due to the ingredients I had on hand, though I don't feel it altered the idea of the soup. I only had one can of black beans, so I used a can of pinto and a can of great northern as well. I also only had one can of regular diced tomatoes, so I added a can of spicy enchilada sauce in the place of the spicine..."

    Reviewed Vegetable Enchilada Casserole

"This was excellent! I did add a little cheese to the inside of the little rolls, and substituted enchilada sauce for the tomato paste and tomato sauce. So yummy!!!!"

    Shared Recipe Mediterranean Cod

"Simply to die for, and so quick to make. Found this recipe on a card in the seafood section of my local Kroger, decided to put it here for safekeeping! I made it exactly as stated, thought I can see how there could be many variations to this recipe."

    About Me

I'm a born and raised city girl who moved to a small town, and love it! I now live in Lexington KY, and I am trying to adjust back to the larger town feel. One good thing...more restaurants! I love to cook, and learned from my father, who passed away 4 years ago. He cooked by throwing things together, and it always tasted great. I love to experiment in the kitchen, and am thrilled when my husband calls me a good cook. Really, I just love to do it!
