Sounds delicious and we want to try it, but I doubt that Texas markets have ever heard of Kaffir Lime Leaves. :?

Is there an acceptable substitute? I hate to leave out an ingredient that might just "Make" the recipe!!

    Reviewed Italian Meat Sauce

"My lady lost her ancient recipe for Italian meat sauce. Her last concoction was woefully bland.. Searched for something similiar on the web site, and came across this one. At first glance, I said "Hey this is it!" Then I read further, and started asking questions in my mind:

"Is this supposed to be Italian?

    Reviewed Perfect Southern Fried Chicken

"PanNan, this is the way Gramma did it. There is no other way, period!

Actually there should be 11 pieces listed, contrary to MASTER1's comment: 2 legs, 2 thighs, 2 wings, 4 breast pieces(two breasts cut in half,) and 1 back. The back-bone was always my Mom's favorite piece, and I have also learned to love it! Keep on cookin!!!"

    About Me

Grew up in rural Tennessee. Those home-tastes will always haunt me; and take up a lot of my "recapture" time... There are also wonderful taste-memories from my 20 years of overseas military assignments: Greek, Italian, Turkish, Chinese, Philippino, and Vietnamese. Those are all different, and all special in their own unique way...
No wonder my lady and I are "slightly" overweight: We love to experiment; and now that the kids are gone, we have to eat all the "mistakes" on our own...

    Favorite Foods

Chinese stir fry; Italian antipasto; Greek veggies; Turkish soups; Tex-mex, and plain ol Southern fare: Corn bread, beans, pigs-feet, greens and 'taters...

If we had to settle on one culture, we would both opt for Chinese; more veggies, more variety, quicker & easier, and a lot healthier... Thank goodness, we don't have to make that choice...

We're too far out in "the sticks" to hit restaurants on a regular basis. Couple times a year, we will go in, and usually visit a Chinese place when we do...
