"I've been using this as my everyday bread too, thanks for posting! Over tiime, I have made a few changes:
I use about a tablespoon of butter instead of margarine
I don't like sweet bread, so I leave out the molasses
Use milk instead of water for extra flavor
Add about a tablespoon of wheat gluten for extra chewy-ness
"So. Very. Good. My whole kitchen smells like croissant, and I'm quite sad I froze the rest of them - the first three were so delicious! I tried letting the dough rest for a few minutes when it wouldn't stretch any further, and that really helped. My only problem was with the rolling up, somehow I either got super thick cylinders or very long threa..."
"I used whole wheat penne, and halved the amount. I layered these on the bottom of the dish before adding the spinach/meat mixture, and had no problems with things being dry. Love the beef/spinach combo!"
"This was voted best soup at the soup potluck dinner I went to last night (in St Louis!). I love making the large batch this recipe calls for, I freeze it and eat it all winter. I don't like lots of salt in my soup, so I make it with 32 oz of low sodium beef broth and add water for the remaining liquid. I also add 1.5 lbs of beef, cubed, and this m..."
"Kittencal, woman, you did it again. I've been playing around with my first breadmaker for months now, and never did I get such airy, light bread. Is it the egg? Or maybe it's my new use of the breadmaker, read on.I omitted the peppers so I just made cheese bread, and I added a good sprinkling of sage. I had my breadmaker do the kneading (and had..."
"Here's a trick to get the seeds out: Cut the kumquat in half and then roll the ends between your fingers, squeezing a little. The seeds will pop up and you can wipe them off with the end of your knife. This also works with lemons.I cheated a bit on the recipe and added some pectin. In retrospect, that probably wasn't necessary (and it made the ma..."
"Fast, simple, and a perfect combination. I served it with #30951 (green beans) and #148513 (couscous) for a quick and healthy dinner. Pity it was over so soon!"
"Easy and filling, very nice soup. I omitted the cream but added the cornstarch, and I pureed most of the soup because I'm a lazy eater. So I ended up with a pretty thick consistency which was just great. I also added a good squirt of lemon juice at the end. Yum. Thanks for sharing!"
"This is so good, it should be illegal. I just inhaled my salad. I left out the sugar at first, then added two teaspoons when I found the dressing too tangy, which turned out to be a bit too much. My fault, but not to worry - I will have many more times to get it just right. Thank you Kittencal!"
