    Reviewed Easy Peanut Butter Cookies

"These do taste like a genuine peanut butter cookie, but it seems to me to be more expensive than one with flour. I would definitely try this with almond butter, as peanut butter seems to not agree with me anymore (even organic). Great choice for people avoiding gluten, though!"

    Reviewed Chocolate Pomegranate Seeds

"I personally was only mildly impressed with these; the taste did not wow me, but the recipe is sho nuff easy! (And I used the double boiler). But the reaction from my hard-to-impress husband was over the top...10-star! I hope to try with the white chocolate too. But I just used some pearly wedding sprinkles to dress them up just a bit for Christmas..."

    Reviewed Mahogany Beef Stew

"Did not have wine; used beef broth instead. Agree that the flavor is rich and wonderful with the hoisin sauce. Will try with potatoes next time."

    Reviewed Spinach Sauce for Pasta

"This is wonderful. I was looking for a recipe to use both leftover pasta and spinach for a simple lunch, but didn't want a heavy alfredo. This was light and mild, but good. For the onion-lovers, I sauteed onions to add. I also threw in a few sundried tomatoes."

    Reviewed Easy Bavarian Cream

"I tried to make this recipe in two steps, but my cheap instant pudding really set up, and did not mix well with the whipped cream (instead of cool whip) that I used the next day. I agree with other reviewers that the pudding flavor really overwhelms the cream. I have never made real Bavarian cream, but I am willing to try now!"

Reviewed White Almond Sour Cream Wedding Cake

"Good. Mine turned out very, very dense, but then again, I changed a couple things. If I could do things over I would use 3 9x13 pans instead of 2. It makes so much cake! I will try this again for a crowd, definitely. The cake bottoms were so nice and firm for frosting."

    Reviewed Carrot and Parsnip Soup

"The kids had a hard time with something new. I thought the cilantro took it to near-perfection. Then again, I could eat cilantro in everything but brownies."

    Reviewed Potatoes Sauteed With Shrimp

"Wonderful and easy. Love your recipes, MizzNezz! I used precooked shrimp, quickly heating them through. Served w/stir fry veggies."

    About Me

I live on the edge of the Canadian Rockies. My husband and I are missionaries working with First Nations people. For fun? I don't have to go far for that--I homeschool my 6 yr old boy, 5 yr old girl, 2 yr old boy, and another coming in Oct 2007. They are more entertaining than anything else in the world. My all-time fave cookbook? Any with good pictures! That's the only reason I would still buy a cookbook--you don't get many pics on the internet recipe sites (unless I haven't been around much). My passion? To see people come to the knowledge that they are loved by the Creator of the Universe, who sent His only Son Jesus to die for their sins. He is the Truth that sets us free. It's a good feeling to be free and forgiven. Eternally. If I had a month off--I guess at this point in my life I can't envision being without my precious family that long...but later in life I hope to enjoy drinking an entire cup of coffee w/o interruption! Any fresh dark roasted, fresh ground, fair trade coffee will do. I would rent a castle in Italy, or travel, travel, travel. And I love to dance--line dancing (or other kinds!)

    Favorite Foods

Cook? I hated cooking when I found 'zaar 4 years ago. I came here b/c I needed all the help cooking that I could get. Now I have found a good crop of "keeper" recipes that have put me on the map as a decent cook. I'm famous in my family for good bread! My fave restaurant is any authentic Italian joint, esp. an elegant one with excellent coffee and tiramisu. I miss Chicago, but I enjoy getting free organic red raspberry leaf "tea" here in the mountains...just watch out for bears...
