"This was really good and a bit better than the Arthur Treacher's recipe I have used before. I used Grolsch beer and had to add a bit more to thin it out. I also added some more water to thin it out. Next time I think I will omit the corn meal because I didn't like the graininess of it. Over all a delicious batter and a definite keeper! My famil..."

"I would NOT add vegetable shortening to stretch lard. Lard is actually better than butter and has no trans fats in it and if you add shortening then you are adding the no good trans fats to it. Keep it in the fridge for weeks or the freezer for up to a year for good storage."

"I'm not a sloppy Joe lover but I really did like this recipe and so did my family-6 yr old included. I will make this again. The only thing I did different was add a few shakes of Worcestershire sauce in with the ground beef. Thank you!"

"This is really delicious and easy. I boiled mine for 4 minutes without beating it after I was done boiling it. I also put it through a strainer to get the seeds out but actually I think there's a lot of flavor in the seeds; next time I will leave them in. But it set up fine!"

"These are really delicious. I like them as much as Nestle Toll House bars; maybe more. This is the second time I have made them but just now getting to post pictures and a review. I made exactly as stated except used half shortening and half softened butter. If someone didn't have molasses they could use dark brown sugar instead and that would p..."

"I rate this a 5 stars on the ease and appearance of this custard. I just wanted the custard and not the crust for a pie part so I followed the recipe w/o a crust and put it in a casserole dish inside a roaster pan filled with warm water. It took about 35 minutes and was set up perfect. I didn't have whole milk so used a combination of half and h..."

"Delicious. I used a little black pepper, a sprinkle of Mrs. Dash and some hot pepper flakes instead of the seasoning salt and parsley. Thank you for posting! 2/6/10 I made this again and left the skins on the potatoes and put chunks of colby/jack cheese on after taking out of the microwave. I let the cheese melt over the potatoes. Yum!"

"I too had that calendar and I finally made the dessert. It is really good. The caramel is at the bottom of the pan when done cooking and the cake is nice and moist. A tad too sweet for me so I would cut down on the sugar in the baking mix part. I aslo put more cinnamon in because we likes our cinnamon! But, otherwise a delicious easy dessert t..."
