I have been working in the restaurant/hospitality industry for over 22 years. I have lived in interesting places (most recently Ft. Lauderdale) that have both influenced and inspired my love of cooking. Although most of my experience is in FOH (front of the house), serving and bartending, I am always paying attention to technique and flattering my chefs with questions and requests for recipes and tips. I am now back in my small hometown here in Ohio and my boyfriend loves to be my recipe guinea pig. Sometimes I think he's too easy on me for he is a devout member of the "clean plate club" and is far from a finicky eater. My family is very happy to have me home, and get togethers with all of them make for the perfect occasion to test my culinary taste and skill. We love to take short day trips and sample foods along the way. I happened upon Food.com about a year ago and have been hooked ever since. Not to mention how many friends and family members I have turned onto the site. I love to take a recipe and tweak it to make it mine. It's so much fun!
My favorite foods are sushi and other Japanese restaurant type foods, LOVE IT! And, after a couple attempts at preparing rolls, etc. at home, I have decided that I enjoy my favorite sushi place's version much better along with the atmosphere. My real favorite foods would be just about anything that is delicious and SIMPLE. I really love to cook food that is interesting while utilizing simple methods and common ingredients. I'm still trying to determine what my "signature dish" would be, but honestly, I cook dinner at home 3 or 5 nights a week, entertain company at least once a month and I don't think I have ever cooked anything the same way twice.
