    Reviewed Philly Cheese Steak

"I was really looking forward to the cheese sauce, it sounded different and better from just melted cheese but it was a real disappointment and quite a bit of extra work... next time i'm just going with a simple cheese that will melt when combined with the hot meat/grilled veggies... i really wanted to rate this higher but i just cannot. sorry""

Shared Recipe Vegetarian Nasi Rice Dish

"A common recipe in the Netherlands, the average person eats probably once a week - easy to throw together and great to serve to guests as it makes a lot and it's relatively cheap! The only thing I've done differently is used tofu in place of ham or bacon. You can also leave the tofu out completely - but you gotta serve it with sate sauce - that's w..."

    About Me

Hi. I'm a 30-something American expat in the Netherlands. I have three daughters - and I'm a stay at home mom. Therefore, I have to cook meals everyday... so I try to find things that are enjoyable for everyone... which is sometimes very difficult... i also love to eat!

    Favorite Foods

vegetarian, vegan, baked goods, curries, soups, mediterranean, ice creams, etc.

One of the best meals i ever came up with is so simple to make: tortilla, satay sauce, broccoli, onion, roasted red peppers and tvp. You just cook the chopped or diced veggies in a wok, throw in your preferred meat (meat substitute), add the satay sauce and then serve it in tortillas. It's my fall back recipe when I don't know what else to make and everyone loves it!

The dish I'm most famous for is making African Peanut Soup and Greek spanakopita. I'm also known for my home baked cookies, cupcakes and cinnamon rolls. Home baked goodies are very popular in the Netherlands because most people only buy this stuff in the store and it's not as good.
