My work (which I am very passionate about) involves planning, organizing, and maintaining systems. I teach Project Management concepts and practices to University students.
For fun, relaxation, and wellbeing, I love being outdoors, particularly camping and hiking in the woods and near water. Outdoors, Hubby is the chef, especially smoking meats with apple, hickory, or oak wood.
My inspiration for preparing meals is eating healthy, well-balanced meals made from scratch as much as possible -- with no harmful additives. As my mother wisely taught me, You ARE what you EAT!
If I had to choose a pet peeve, though, it would be poor customer service.
My food preferences are very eclectic and include international, regional, and local cuisine. I love to cook but, time to cook well is another matter so simplicity is what I look for in new recipes. The restaurants I visit the most are usually Mexican because the food is often better and less expensive than I can make at home. Oh, and that's another thing... I generally do not eat out if I can make it better myself at home
