     |  By carol mac

"This was very, very good! I took advise from others and didn't use orange zest or juice, I also added an 1/2 Tb of cornstarch. Next time I'll add a tad bit of more sugar. This recipe screamed summer :-"

Reviewed Green Beans with Mushroom and Shallots
     |  By carol mac

"This was a good dish but it took longer to cook then what was stated. I cooked green beans in the microwave for 6 mins then simmered it on the stove top for about 7-8 mins or til it was fork tender, I added fresh garlic. I didn't have fresh mushrooms so used canned. It had great flavor & color :- "

    Reviewed Strawberry Muffins
     |  By carol mac

"These were good but not very healthy with all the butter & sugar. Thankfully, I read reviews before making these muffins, like so many others I found ways cutting out fat & reduce sugar while keeping the taste. I used 2 cups of flour & 1 cup of cake flour, reduced sugar to 1/2 cup, added salt & vanilla. I only used 1/2 cup of melted butter & 1/2 ..."

    Reviewed Raspberry Lemon Thumbprint Cookies
     |  By carol mac

"Loved, loved, LOVED these cookies! I made the following changes: chilled the dough over night, formed the balls then put 'em in the fridge for 10 mins before filling. Baked for 14 mins. If you chill dough before baking, cookies wont spread. I also added 1/4 tea of almond extract. I didn't have chambord or kirch, fresh lemon zest/juice ..."

"I just made this for Easter, wish I could give it more then 5 stars! I followed the advise of some viewers & used apple juice for water, it had a wonderful flavor. I also studded ham w/whole cloves, this is a keeper :-"

"I have a pot of this soup on, it smells amazing! I made the following changes. I soaked navy beans over night then brought them to boil & let it sit for 45 mins. I used dried herbs, kale for spanich & whole wheat noodles, added green beans, can't wait until soup is ready. "

     |  (1 person found this helpful) |  By carol mac

"This turned out really good! I made a batch for my hubby in the evening, put it in the frige and the next day he had a bowl. Since it needed to sit over night I passed on the banana but did add raisins, cinnamon was a nice touch. I cooked the oatmeal longer then what recipe stated, it took about 6-7 mins to get thick, worth the wait. I also ad ..."

Reviewed Stracotto (Pot Roast with Porcini Mushrooms

"I made this for dinner tonight. Not sure if I bought an old roast from our local store, it turned out like shoe leather :-(. Thankfully I added potatoes and carrots so it wasn't a total loss, broth was amazing. "

    Reviewed Apple Crostata
     |  By carol mac

"This recipe is good and easy to follow however, I feel the orange zest over powers the apples so I leave it out. I add 1/3 cup of brown sugar & 1/3 cup of white sugar to the filling. It takes longer to bake then recipe states, whenever I've baked one it takes anywhere between 40-45 mins. Every time apples are on sale my hubby knows he'll ..."
