As of 6-12-2008......I am now a working mom to a lively 10 year old. I worked at her school, part-time for a while and decided we really needed for me to go back to work full time. I was determined to get a job working with food somehow and after many hours of pounding the pavement, I got a job as a Prep-Cook. It's not as much real cooking as I would like, but I have been having to work the line a lot lateley and like that too.
I still live in north-west Indiana with my husband Tony, and our daughter Allegra Janette. We still have a Brittany spaniel, Rocky. Had to bury Ashley the hamster and my husband lost my cat Lucy, so I got a 6 week old kitten, (now 2) last July named Cookie. We now have another 11 month old kitten, Cayenne, who has the same mommy as Cookie. We moved in December 06 to Chesterton, IN, only about ten miles, but closer to work for me. And now we have a 3rd kitten, Coconut. (Cookie died in August of 07, and Coconut had kittens herself and have Candy from her and Chilepepper from my neighbor and yes my daughter named her after my Zaar nickname and kept with our theme of foods that start with C.)
I collect Christmas ornaments and had over 1750 on my tree in 2005. I also collect shot glasses, hot sauces and anything with Chilepeppers on it for my Chilepepper inspired kitchen. (And Zaar nickname) I love NASCAR (go Junior)and as you can tell I talk too much.
We also recently moved back to Valparaiso and got out of the hell=hole we lived at before.
My all time favorite food was something my mom called chicken and dumplings. But it is more like chicken with big, fat, chewy noodles. It was one of the few recipes I got from her before she passed away, thank goodness. The problem is no one else, except my brother and nephew seem to like it as much as me.
For myself, I am famous for my baked beans. I HAVE to make them for every family party or risk getting kicked out of the family. I even made them for my own wedding, and since a couple of other friends weddings too.
