Reviewed Asparagus with Creamy Mustard Sauce

"I loved this sauce! Didn't have any heavy cream so I made it with half and half and thickened it with cornstarch. Also, I love broiled asparagus, so I cooked them this way and put the sauce on top when serving. I bet this would be good over new potatoes too! ""

    Reviewed Mom's Dirty Rice

"This was AWESOME!! First time I've had dirty rice and I will definately be making it again. Although I did make some changes, I'm sure it would be great just as written. Since there are only two of us in the house and we LOVE hot foods, I halfed the recipe, used only 1 lb of hot italian sausage, added 2 cloves of garlic, left out the celery (did..."

    About Me

I live in Florida and love it here. (We could do without the lovebugs and misquito's though...) My favorite pastime is just getting out of the house and doing something; seeing a game, going for a bike ride, or just going for a walk or reading outside. (I get sloth-like if I stay indoors too long). I love Cooks Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen and buy their magazines and cookbooks often.

    Favorite Foods

Cooking is one of my passions. I like Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Thai, Italian...well, pretty much everything! I get into these personal challenges to find the best recipes in something I'm interested in; I try different recipes and play with them until they are just right for me. (My current challenge is to make great chinese food.) Trying a completely new recipe is so much fun for me, and my son is my major ginnea pig. I know, it's terrible... what's worse is that his tastebuds aren't as adventurous as mine, but I love to hear his comments and suggestions. It helps me to tweak recipes and to try new things.
