"You can avoid having to do this by never, EVER washing cast iron in soap. Soap is what ruins the seasoning of the pan. Wash it in hot water and use a spatula or firm plastic vegetable brush to get off any stuff. Then, put it on the stovetop, warm it up to completely dry it (this prevents rust, and spray a little olive oil on the warm pan. I've ha..."

"Great banana bread! Nice, light, moist, and not too sweet. My only complaint is the serving size-if you bake in a 9 inch pan, to get 48 slices each piece would be 3/16 inch thick (otherwise known as razor thin-impossible with a bread this light. This recipe actually makes about 20-24 servings. *I used whole wheat flour and replaced the 1 1/..."

"Great cake! Moist, sweet, and light. Easy to put together, although it does make a lot of dirty dishes. And very, very yummy! Next time I will probably double the nuts in the topping for even more crunch.*I replaced the 3/4 cup sugar with 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup Splenda with no ill effects."

"The taste was good, but mine were soft. I cooked them for 20 minutes at 425 as in the instructions, and they were soft. I gave them another 5 minutes, no change. Finally I gave them another 5 on the broiler, until they were getting a little black around the edges... and they were still soft. We ate them and they tasted great, but we were just ea..."

Even adding in the Splenda calories and carbs that Recipezaar leaves out, this comes out to about 90 calories per 2 tablespoons and 9 grams of sugar compared to Carnation at 130 calories and 22 grams of sugar-a definite improvement. You can improve the nutrition a little more by replacing the cold water and S..."

"Great cookies for frosting! They aren't very sweet, so the frosting doesn't kill you with sugar. I had trouble with them because I rolled them out too thin (about 1/4 inch , and they came out dry and crunchy. Once I realized the problem and rolled them a little thicker, they were great."
