I have always loved to cook. Mostly self- taught in the kitchen, however I took lots of home ec in school, and as a kid I spent many hours at the table watching my Polish grandmother bake breads and got to be her filling "taster". My mom was the queen of casserole construction and has perfected the pie crust as well. Most of what I know about cooking I learned from my mom. My father taught me techniques and knife skills; gutting, scaling & cooking fresh fish, de-boning or cutting up poultry, how to cook a turkey. He was also amazing cooking anything in a wok or bbq grill. I have yet to achieve great results when cooking anything on a bbq, but summer is coming up, so anything can happen!
I enjoy taking recipes and modifying them to suit my family's tastes, I almost never make a recipe according to the directions unless it's a pastry or dessert.
chicken, beans, pasta, brown rice, tortilla, salad, soy milk, almond milk, pork, greek yogurt.
