"I would just like to note that this isn't how we halo-halo is made here in the Philippines. Authentic halo-halo is never prepared with cantaloupe, papaya, honeydew or strawberry jell-o. Anyone who wants to try this recipe might mix all the fruits and the jell-o in ice cream glasses first, then add the shaved ice, pour milk and add sugar to taste..."

"I skipped the lychees because I don't like them and used wheat nuts instead of chopped almonds because it still turns out cheaper than almonds and my hubby loves them. I would just like to clarify that you use shredded young coconut for the salad. A can of condensed milk (or half a can if you don't like it too sweet would also be a nice addition...."
