"I can't believe I've waited so long to review this recipe. I've been baking this bread every Sunday for most of the summer, and it's perfect. I feed my starter with all purpose flour, and make my sponge with the same, but for the remaining cups of flour, I've started using sprouted whole wheat flour, and it works out great..."

"After trying several recipes, I have settled on this as my go to sourdough rye. I let the sponge sit overnight the first time I made it, and for a full 24 hours the second time, but still used the additional yeast to ensure a timely rise. It's absolutely delicious, and great for sandwiches, alongside soups, or anything at all. Will make this again..."

Reviewed Healthy Bean Soup With Kale

    LinMarie says:

"This was excellent! I used fresh veggies instead of canned, so I added things in a different order. I did onions and garlic, then sauteed a few minutes more with the carrots, and then added the kale and shortly after that the fresh tomatoes. I couldn't find white beans so went with garbanzo instead, and had just packed up my blender/processor, so ..."

Reviewed Whole Wheat Beer & Honey Bread Machine Rolls

    LinMarie says:

"I'm really excited about this recipe. No rating, though, because I did something wrong. They didn't rise for me. I don't have a bread machine, so did them by hand and I think I may have killed the yeast by adding it to the hot beer/honey mixture. I will try again because despite the density of the rolls, the flavor was fantastic!"

"I thought this soup was good, but not great. We love all of the spices it uses, but it simply didn't wow me. A bit overwhelming. I think I prefer red lentil soups with vegetables to round out the delicious spices. Thanks for giving me a new soup to try!"

"This was easy and delicious! I used coconut oil which altered the flavor, but in a very good way if you ask me. I didn't have peanut butter or chocolate on hand, so I used cocoa powder and pecan meal in my frosting approximation. I'll definitely be trying it again when I have the correct icing ingredients on hand!"

"Good stuff! I mixed with my homemade "veganaise" rather than regular mayo and used on a sandwich with grilled onion, eggplant, and tomato. Perfect complement! I will use slightly less nutmeg next time, but otherwise it was perfect."

    LinMarie says:

"I have never had simit before, so I have never experienced the consistency as it is meant to be, but I agree with the previous reviewer's assessment of this recipe as producing something more akin to a shortbread. The rings certainly turned out and worked fine for our purposes, but after a bit of googling, it seems this recipe is not very true to ..."

    LinMarie says:

"My husband called this "the best tomato sauce I've ever tasted." We really enjoyed it and I have made it twice now. We prefer not to use canned anything, so I halved a bunch of the small tomatoes that are grown locally where we live, and are about cherry tomato size. Threw those in once the onions and garlic were starting to get soft. Did use the ..."
