"A terrific base to use for experimenting. I halved the butter and added some yogurt or applesauce, used 1/2 whole wheat flour, and only 1 egg white. I've tried it with various dried fruit, frozen fruit, and choc chips (omitted the spices--all with good results."

"My husband and I really liked this. It's different, seasonal, and delicious. To lighten it up, I used turkey sausage (spicy and 2% milk instead of the cream. It was plenty thick. We also used less pasta, preferring more sauce on the pasta than the original recipe calls for."

"Easy and what a nice flavor. Used whiskey because that's what I had. Used light sour cream and 2% milk to lighten it a little. Also used about 1/2 the pasta for the amount of sauce specified and probably about 6 ounces of salmon to yield about 4 servings. "

"Very easy and tasty. The gravy makes the dish. I wanted a bit more flavor so I added thyme. We like a lot of gravy so I use one tenderloin with the entire gravy recipe."

"I also enjoyed this unusual and healthful stew. The only change I made was to use sweet Italian sausage, which I browned first. We like stew fairly thick so I also added some corn starch at the end. "

"This is really excellent. I made some modifications based on the ingredients I could get. I used canned tomatillos and jalepenos for the sauce and I used a fresh jalepeno instead of the pablano pepper, low fat sour cream and cheddar cheese. I also included mushrooms. It was really good and I look forward to trying it with chicken."
