"Holy Cow. I had leftover egg yolks from an Angel Food cake, and limes on hand, so I made lime curd instead of lemon. I will never buy jarred curd again. Now, I'm going to have to make some scones and tea. "

    Reviewed Granola
     |  By Elizabeth T.

"I have to admit, I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I omitted the coconut because my daughter won't eat it, and the raisins because I don't like them. I didn't have any cashews on hand, so my granola was just oats, almonds and Alton's coating. Still, I think we got the basic flavor. This was delicious, and it didn't last ..."

"Made this as a side dish to accompany Giada's Stuffed Portobella Mushrooms. It was fabulous. I did increase the spices a bit - and it had a wonderful full flavor. The bit of chili flakes gave it a nice heat without overpowering the fresh Italian herbs. Can't wait to make it in the summer, when the tomatoes are at their best.

"Served these for a dinner party and they were a hit. Minor changes: cream cheese and blue cheese because I had them on hand and Mascarpone can be pricey. Vegetarian Sausage + Fennel seeds for Italian Sausage flavor (we are vegheads. Will definitely make these again and play with the ingredients for fun. It's a good basic recipe that lends to i ..."

Reviewed Butternut Squash Soup with Chipotle Cream
     |  By Elizabeth T.

"Overall, this soup was good but kinda bland - even with the chipotle peppers. I think it needs something and plan to experiment by reserving some of the squash before blending and then adding the chopped pieces back to the soup. Also, thinking about adding something for texture - like croutons or caramelized onions on top. "

"Yummy! Used real butter (no shortening and extra vanilla (cuz I LOVE vanilla instead of butter flavoring. Didn't read the part about refrigerating the dough until after they were in the oven (oops! but it made no difference. Will make again."
