"I made the recipe fairly close to written (no veal so more hamburger, real celery instead of celery salt and I doubled the spices, but the result was rather bland. I'm hoping the flavors with intensify over time because there are plenty for leftovers! The blandness could be because I used home canned Roma tomatoes for the sauce. Next time I will ..."

"The recipe did turn out very moist but bland--even the cream cheese filling was unremarkable. I omitted the pineapple but added equivalent applesauce and put the batters into Texas-muffin pans (for single serving portions but my DH, who adores carrot cake anything, said he was not impressed. Maybe they need more sugar?"

"This is a great tasting recipe and very authentic. I served it with Victor 52 Cuban Black Beans and Rice and it was a smash hit!
One time instead of fresh loin, we had a huge pork roast that had been roasted and was put in freezer--so I just put marinade over the thawed sliced pork and left for 24 hr. and then baked for about 2-3 hr. until fla..."

"I am looking for a copycat recipe of Fontova Santa Barbara Mango & Peach Salsa (found in sealed plastic tubs in refrigerator cases at many grocery stores which is great tasting and hard to measure up to--but I want it to be home canned. I apologize in advance for being critical of this recipe but understand that is my frame of reference.

"I loved the fact that this recipe has no dairy or soy, so from there I proceeded to tinker with it until I have one of my favorite recipes! I have lots of canned pears and need to use them.
    To the cake:
--used 4 c. of home canned pears and accompanying syrup instead of fresh fruit
--decreased white sugar to 1/2 c.
    --added 1/2 tsp...."

"This is the basic recipe I use all the time to make Texas-sized chocolate muffins. I freeze grated zucchini in 2 cup packages (keeps wonderful for years and thaw it out as needed but do NOT drain it (therefore needing to only use 1/2 c. oil. If you double this recipe, it make 18 Texas muffins. I top them with nuts and/or chocolate chips and free..."
